Writing Well on a Technical Blog

A second sample post. Short. Opinionated. Demonstrates that multiple posts sort correctly.

Three rules that keep technical posts readable:

  1. Lead with the conclusion. Readers decide in the first paragraph whether to keep going. Give them the answer, then the reasoning.
  2. Show the code. One real code block beats three paragraphs of prose describing what the code does.
  3. Keep it short. A thousand words is usually 400 words of content and 600 words of preamble. Cut the preamble.

That's the post. Delete it and write your own.
